Leslie Henderson

Leslie Henderson

Leslie Marie Hatcher was born in Louisville, Mississippi, and grew up in the small community of Nania Wayia in Winston County. She attended school at Neshoba Central through the 10th grade, then transferred to the Mississippi School for Math and Science where she graduated in 1994. She then attended Mississippi State University, completing her B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering in 1998. During that time she worked briefly as an intern at DuPont in DeLisle, MS.

Leslie remained at MSU for 2 more years to complete her M. S. Degree in Chemical Engineering with an emphasis on bio-remediation of hazardous waste. Upon graduation, she accepted a position with Mississippi Polymer Technologies (MPT), located near Pearlington, MS. She worked at MPT as a Research Engineer and Quality Assurance Manager for 5 years. During this time Leslie became involved in home brewing and started experimenting with different styles of beer.

In 2003, Leslie completed her formal brewing education with the American Brewer's Guild's course in Intensive Brewing Science. She followed the course work with a 3-month internship at Crescent City Brew House in New Orleans. Shortly after completing this training, she began the process of building Lazy Magnolia. In June of 2005, Leslie left Mississippi Polymer Technologies to operate Lazy Magnolia Brewing Company full time.

Leslie married Mark Henderson in 1997. They live in Kiln, MS, very close to the brewery.

Mark Henderson

Mark Henderson

Born in Cleveland, MS, in 1973, Mark graduated from Mississippi State University in 1995 and 1997 (took him twice to get it right). His technical training is in electrical engineering with a specialization in control systems and automation. Before starting Lazy Magnolia Brewing Company with Leslie, Mark kept himself occupied with designing and building gadgets. Since starting Lazy Magnolia, Mark has been involved heavily in the financial considerations, capital assessment, investor relations, and new business development.

Gar Hatcher

Gar Hatcher

Gar is Lazy Magnolia’s Production Manager... That’s putting it lightly. Gar works in brewery making beer on a daily basis, but he is also responsible for coordinating shipments to our distributors and from our raw materials providers along with our Administrative Manager. Gar also created some of our most popular recipes and continues to experiment with new beers and flavors whenever he has time.

Gar was born and raised in the woods of East, Central Mississippi. He attended Neshoba Central through middle school and graduated from Starkville High School in 1999. After graduation Gar immersed himself in the hospitality industry in Starkville and later in Jackson where he became an experienced bartender and manager.

Looking for a change of pace, he joined Lazy Magnolia in August, 2005. Hurricane Katrina hit only four weeks after he started work, and all of his earthly possessions flooded away after the waters of the storm resided. He stayed with the Lazy Magnolia team and was instrumental in getting the brewery back up and running. Gar lives in Bay St. Louis, MS.

Brandi Bradley

Brandi Bradley

Brandi is Lazy Magnolia’s Marketing and Sales Director. Her charm and competence are necessary qualities for guiding the LMBC Marketing Staff. She works hard to direct our staff in spreading the Lazy Mag message of quality and good Southern beer. Brandi grew up in South Louisiana and, a little later on, in Memphis, Tennessee. She graduated from the University of Mississippi with a degree in Speech Pathology. Needless to say, her career has taken a turn, but she certainly enjoys her role with the brewery.Brandi is a fan of the Southern food author John T. Edge, and she enjoys crabbing on the Gulf Coast and making blueberry wine when she’s got an evening to spare. She also likes a late, lazy morning accompanied by a Jefferson Stout.

Mr. Ed Henderson

Mr. Ed Henderson

Mr. Ed is a fifth generation Mississippian, raised on a farm with five brothers and one sister. He works at Lazy Mag as a Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer, and Quality Manager. He earned degrees from Sand Hill High School, Miss State University in BS Chemistry, and Delta State University in MS Chemistry. He is also an Officer in the US Army.

Mr. Ed is married to Joan Baker from Salem, IN., and they have three lovely children together: Mark, Cindy, Michael. After a long and successful career, Mr. Ed retired and moved to South Mississippi to be near our children and friends. Mr. Ed cherishes a lot about Mississippi and the South, namely friends, who know and talk to friends. The “Y’all come on in” and “Y’all come back soon ya hear” attitude. Oh, and the food, plain and simple ...occasionally some not so simple.

When it comes to beer, Mr. Ed approaches it from an “easy to enjoy” standpoint. You don’t have to know a lot about anything to enjoy a beer. With wine you may have to know that this flavor goes with beef and another with pork. With beer you don’t have to know anything except “Buddy, That is a good beer.”

Zohn Tennyson

Zohn Tennyson

Zohn Tennyson has been brewing beer for Lazy Magnolia since early 2008. As one of our most experienced Brewers, Zohn works to train the new staff coming up on our Cellar side. Though he calls the Gulf Coast home, he originally hails from Starkville,MS. Zohn attended Mississippi State University, and he continues to love himself some Bulldogs.

After college, Zohn became a member of the United States Army in which he served until 2007. He retired from the military as a disabled combat veteran. Zohn loves the South and everything about it. He especially enjoys the coast with its warm water and climate. He currently resides in Diamondhead, MS, with his beautiful wife Robyn and their two children Chase and Kelanie.

If he isn't working in his yard or cooking for friends, he and Robyn can usually be found prowling the streets of New Orleans or floating in the Gulf of Mexico with a cold Lazy Magnolia beer.

Travis Lemco

Travis Lemco

Travis is our Packaging/ Shipping Manager here at Lazy Magnolia. On a regular day, he oversees all of the kegs and bottles that are shipped from the doors of the Lazy Mag Brewery. Travis grew up in Ocean Springs, and he graduated from the Mississippi School of Math and Sciences in 2003.  Collegiately, he received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Biochemical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN in 2007.

Travis moved back down to the Coast in 2008 to be closer to friends and family and to join the Lazy Magnolia Team. He currently lives with long-time girlfriend Heather. That is until September of 2010 when the couple will welcome their first baby.

Travis says he enjoys working at Lazy Magnolia because he gets “to be a part of creating an awesome product that hopefully helps bring just a little bit of joy into the lives of people all across the South.” New Orleans and the ocean are two very important things about living in the South to Travis.

Kathryn Corr

Keith Baker

Keith Baker

Keith works on the Packaging side of Lazy Magnolia as one of our Technicians. He has been with Lazy Magnolia since the end of Spring 2010. He regularly helps with general bottling and kegging, but can also be seen undertaking many of the numerous construction and maintenance projects at the Brewery.

Keith was born in Waveland, MS, where he graduated from Bay High School. He’s lived on the Coast for most of his life except when he took off for Nashville, TN. He’s since moved back to raise his son Porter.

Keith plans on sticking it out here after the storm with his family. He passes his days off playing golf and cruising the beach.

Kevin Troub

Kevin Troub

We don’t have a huge filtering crew at Lazy Mag, especially considering the fact that we filter all of our Ales. So, Kevin shoulders a lot of responsibility as our primary Cellarman and Filter Operator. He’s been with Lazy Magnolia over two years now, and continues to do a great job every day.

Kevin was born and raised in Longbeach, MS, where he graduated from Longbeach High School. He joined the military and served four years in the US Navy where he was stationed in Virginia and met his wife, who is now a preschool teacher.

Kevin plans to stay in the South for the hospitality and access to good ocean water. Living on the Coast, it’s pretty easy to get to one of his favorite past-times: fishing.

Kevin loves a good Craft Beer and really appreciates the time and effort that goes into making it...the more creative the better. He especially looks forward to cooler seasons in Mississippi because he likes a good Stout.

Braxton Manuel

Braxton Manuel

Braxton has been working at Lazy Magnolia since 2009 and is the youngest member of our staff. He’s a technician on our Packaging side, and he works hard to get that Lazy Magnolia out to y’all.

Braxton lives here in Kiln where he’s working on his education plan. He hopes to one day join the US Army and later attend college.

Braxton considers himself a Southern boy. He enjoys the outdoors and just about anything Southern. He’s a little too young to hit the sauce, but he can imagine that it would be great to sit down on a hot summer day with some friends and family and enjoy a cold one.

Sam Vermiiyea

Sam Vermiiyea

Sam has been working at Lazy Magnolia since 2009 is one of our Brewers. He has the important job of making sure we brew delicious beer for y'all.

Sam moved down to the coast from South Carolina in 2007 to be closer to his family. He is a newlywed and married his lovely wife on February 13th 2010.

Sam loves to spend his time on the water with his family and an ice chest of cold beer.

Suzanne Gaut

Suzanne Gaut

Suzanne started working at Lazy Magnolia on October 4th, 2010 in production, she is also our safety manager.

Suzanne was born in Atmore, Alabama and grew up in Pensacola, Florida. Earned a B.S. in building construction from UWF and moved to Texas right after with big dreams of being an architect. Spent 12 years there: Dallas for 1 (she's NOT a Cowboys fan), Houston for 3 (she's a big Oilers fan :) ), and Austin for 8 fun, great years. She didn't become an architect (result of a really bad boss with a major pocket protector), instead, started an apprenticeship in commercial printing. She relocated to the Chicago area to further her career in the printing industry and called it home for 16 years.

She's glad to finally be back south where y'all is common language, the Gulf of Mexico is just a block south of her house, and the snow shovel has been forever retired. She thinks it's great to be back in "southern-fried goodness land, where winter lasts for a few weeks max and summer goes on forever." She still is missing some great folks from Chi-Town, but can't wait to tote 'em some Lazy Magnolia when visiting. She said that bunch does love good beer and she can't wait until they taste this stuff!

She thinks working at Lazy Magnolia is all about camaraderie, teamwork and one common reason...making the best tastin' beer in the South!

Muriel Dubuisson

Muriel Dubuisson

Muriel began working at Lazy Magnolia in November 2010 and is our Administrative Manager. She has the important responsibility of keeping everything and everyone organized, it's a challenge.

She is originally from Pearlington and currently resides in Pass Christian with her husband, Charles, and three handsome boys.

She's new to the craft beer world and said she never knew what she was missing! Her favorite Lazy Magnolia beer to drink is Indian Summer with crawfish. She says "Who knew this combination would be so good." She loves the sun and sand and the long summer days.

Josh Poole

Josh Poole

Josh is a New York State native. As he says, "Not the part of the state with NYC, but the part with cows. Yes, there are cows in New York." He relocated to Mississippi in January 2009 to do post Katrina volunteer work. After a year on the coast, he decided to stay and found his way to Lazy Magnolia in late September 2010. He has a B.A. in fine art and has done everything from Theater to Lifeguarding to cooking in several Mexican restaurants.

True to form, Josh has done a little bit of everything around the brewery from helping out with marketing to helping out with production. He mainly likes to be in the cellar talking to customers about beer at events, or helping out and bugging the brewers.

Craft beer’s creativity, high quality, and multiple facets has always sparked Josh’s imagination. He enjoys the South’s unique pace of life, friendly people, and culture including great food, art and music. His favorite discoveries in the south are fresh shrimp (and anything its in) , Mardi Gras, live oak trees, crawfish boils, and live local bands that are fun to dance to.
